Project Description and Challenges
The original scope of work included the installation of 6 LED Monitors and four static signs. During the initial walk-through process we found that new rooms had been built, and they would need to have ADA compliant room signs. We worked with the contractor in getting samples of the signs to complete a color match as the original specifications were not available. We fabricated temporary signs that allowed the builder to obtain their Certificate of Occupancy. We completed the extensive color match process and delivered the final room signs that matched exactly to the existing signage.
We were then asked to fabricate signs for a new extension of the airport, which included ADA compliant room signs, a new gate podium internally illuminated sign, consisting of four panels, and one, double-sided gate ID flag mount sign. The builder needed the signs within four days of their request. Again, we fabricated temporary signs to accommodate Hensel Phelps’ schedule and to enable passengers to find their gates until the permanent signage could be fabricated. Final installation of all signs took place on-time and without affecting the airport’s passengers. We are currently working with Hensel Phelps on the upcoming signage for the addition of 12 more gates to the Austin Airport.
